Rebecca Sounds Reveille with Nikita Breznikov

This magnetic episode brings incredible insight into the life of retired police officer, WWE Wrestler, author, actor, producer, casting director, and production designer Nikita Breznikov. Before entering the entertainment world, Nikita served his city by becoming a police officer and eventually retiring as a Detective Sergeant of the Baltimore Police Department after 27 years of exemplary service. His first break in entertaining came in the form of professional wrestling with the friendship of WWE Hall of Famer Nikolai Volkoff during his time as a Detective Sergeant. The friendship evolved into a manager/protégé partnership that would guide these two comrades for 11 years. At times, Nikita donned the tights and the two would tag team. He was an officer of the law by day and wrestler by night. It was the love of pro wrestling that led Nikita to entertain. After he retired, Nikita began acting full time in films, such as “Brush with Danger,” “The Wrestler,” and “Heroes of Wrestling,” and also appearing in documentaries. Nikita is the author of “When it Was Real,” taking you back to an era when wrestling was presented from an entertaining but legitimate competition manner and from two perspectives – a starry-eyed fan and as the manager and tag team partner of the legendary Nikolai Volkoff.

During the show, Nikita keeps you on the edge of your seat with stories from how a “7-Eleven” cardboard sign would become a staple of his life to what it was like of moonlighting as a wrestler by night and an officer by day. One of the stories he said to Rebecca, “that night that we were leaving, there was a blizzard on the horizon and it was coming from the north so Nikolai said, ”You think we should go?…” and then talks about what was filmed on the top of the World Trade Center in Baltimore. From Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking to much, much more., you are gonna be engaged! This is an amazing show!

Out of the second gate comes guest, Jeffrey Small, President of “Arbor Financial,” and author of “Turning Financial Planning Right-Side Up,” an Amazon bestseller that has helped thousands of readers master the inside game of investing, as well as avoiding Wall Street and media bias. He is a Market Watcher, Energy Analyst, and occasional host of the national TV show, “The Income Generation.” Jeffrey has been working with clients and their families for almost 30 years. Arbor Financial is a “boutique of Financial Investment’s” and Jeffrey is licensed with the “Florida Department of Financial Services,” a “Certified Senior Advisor” through the “Society of Certified Senior Advisors” and recently completed the requirements to become an “Investment Advisor Representative.” Both he and Arbor Financial are also members in good standing of the “Central Florida Better Business Bureau” and “The National Ethics Association.”

During the show Jeffrey talks about the things many people don’t talk about when it comes to giving out financial strategy. Here is an excerpt from the show…
“we are hyper yield interest rate dividend focus, but we are not stock market specifics, so the average portfolio in our office here will be generating greater than a five percent net yield after fees, but there’ll be 85 percent uncorrelated or disconnected entirely from the stock market if not more than that as a percentage and so that is where folks today should be modern with their money.” Now if you are feeling a bit confused here is something Jeffrey says that you may never have heard an advisor say, “I always tell everybody is they should go out and find three advisors, I even tell my my own perspective or potential customers this, they should find three advisors, they should show them their best their best risk off approach with their highest yield arrived, and so if they can get a four or five percent net yield and be risk off and that’s a good advisor.” Jeffrey goes into so much detail about how the current state of the economy may affect you and how you can address it. The great thing about it is he is able to explain this in a way that is easy to understand and may allow you to rethink how you want to strategize your finances.

During the show, Jessica details how her film “The Sixteen Movie” tackles the opioid crisis in the United States. She shares how the “film specifically revolves around 16-year-olds who recreationally use the drug. First, they start out taking pills, then they steal from their parents or their brother or sister, and then one by one the whole group of friends who were once healthy, vivacious, high achieving teenagers, each become addicted. The film literally shows the path of destruction that each of them lives out and it’s all very different scenarios, but there they literally experience the dark underworld of heroin and fentanyl addiction. So, it shows prostitution, overdose, HIV, murders, robbery gone wrong, murder… I mean you name it, it’s… it’s in the film. Anything that can go wrong with a nasty addiction like that, we portray a very real intense- raw view of what that addiction looks like in action.”

Rebecca Sounds Reveille with Jay David

When you hear the word success, what comes to mind? The guest in this episode, renowned Jay David, who is an accomplished drummer, singer, songwriter, musician, actor, recovery counselor, and speaker, has dazzled the audience in numerous performances, including his position with Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show and he will dazzle you too! Jay shares how his love and talent for music began. His first appearance was at the age of two and a half. (He will tell you more about it on the show!)! This show intertwines his life’s journey as climbs and rises to the peak of fame and what was to follow. Jay is a hoot to listen to as he talks about being at Mercury Records in New York City

“I was playing whenever all of the songwriters (they had about a hundred fifty songwriters) and whenever the songwriters would come up with a song that management thought was good, they went and they had me come in and record the drum parts for it. Then, along with two other instruments, it would just be a trio, and somebody would sing it. That’s how they would shop those songs to other artists that were looking for material in those days (this being the late 60s) and so I was in the studio all the time. Then I began singing the songs too. Then I began playing the piano, then the drums and things. So I was I was very busy. And one day this producer came in and he said, “Hey Jay! Listen to this song! And he played me a song called, “The Last Morning,” and he said, “This is a new group called, “Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show,” and they don’t have a drummer. They’re looking for a drummer. Do you want to go?” Well, I was the staff drummer.”

Later the group went to Columbia Records to meet with Clive Davis. While waiting amongst others and wanting to stand out so as to get a contract, here is what Jay said he did: “I walked behind his desk and took his trash can and turned it upside down and Dennis Andrade took that acoustic guitar and I played the trash can. That’s how we did our audition; in his office. The next day they signed us to a $750,000 deal.” Jay also shared how there were challenges with the BBC and what they would not let air due to possible copyright infringement and a “word” in a song, all of which he details and you will find quite interesting when you tune in!

Jay has recently been in some films and has released his “hilarious and insightful” new parody, “The Cover of the AARP,” on the album “This Road,” which includes originals and songs by Stephen Stills, Joe Egan (Steeler’s Wheel), and JJ Cale.

There is a lot to glean from this episode. For example, through perseverance, envisioning a dream, then pursuing that dream, you CAN achieve it! Jay says, “I’m a drummer for life. I always have been. I always will be and I’ll always make music. I have a little recording studio in my house here and I’ll be recording later today- JayDavismusic.com.”

Rebecca Sounds Reveille with Theresa Chaze and Brad Williams

In this episode, guest Theresa Chaze, who is a writer, director, producer, and editor, with several credits to her name talks about her unscripted TV series, Horses and Heroes, which combines highly effective Peer Support Therapy with Equine Therapy. Unlike most in the genre, it will focus on healing and positive growth rather than endorsing bad behavior. They will be sharing their challenges and supporting each other as they find new solutions to their physical and emotional challenges. Theresa talks about how she’s supporting the veterans of the United States military who have served and how they work together to find new coping skills for their physical and emotional challenges. The emphasis will be on the veterans because they are people, they are not disposable parts of the war machine. She shares how veterans “need permission to seek help” as so many don’t because they think the ramifications will hurt their careers. “You’ve got this reputation of being tough guys and tough guys just sucked it up.” Theresa also has two other films that may also pique your interest: Never Can Say Good-bye tells the parallel storylines of the past and the present as the reincarnated souls are forced to decide between forgiveness and seeking the revenge they were denied in the past. Chalice Island is a Gothic Horror, which is comparable to the original Dark Shadows TV series. Jacqueline’s capacity to love is only exceeded by her need for vengeance after she finds her mother raped and murdered. When a source of evil offers both her and her brother the means to gain revenge, she enthusiastically embraces the dark arts. https://cproduction5.wixsite.com/cosmos-productions-

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4183095

Topping the second half of the show, returning financial expert and Founding President & CEO of Brad Williams Financial Services, LLC, guest Brad Williams, has over 25 years of experience and addressing financial concerns of retirees and business owners. He has very strong communication skills, is very personable, and he likes to focus on the clients’ concerns, and address what is important to them. On the show, we talk about how right now, “money stress,” is what a lot of people are losing sleep over and the possible causation. For example, our fast-paced society and being always connected digitally allows easy accessibility to consumer goods and constant marketing tactics that spur people to “act now,” without really paying too much attention to “how much it is going to cost.” The debt stacks ups quickly and only later the consumer realizes they may have overextended themselves.

Brad talks about how everything should be all about return on investment and that might only be return on investment for your own relaxation. You’ are going to spend money or take the time off to recharge, that’s good, that’s what you should do, but it’s also about things like college and college is one of those big expenses that people stress over. Brad suggests one of the best things is to sit down and write out the general life plan you hope to accomplish at the end of your life, write yourself a narrative on what you would like people to say about you what did, then figure out over the next five years what you want, such as a new car, a house, a trip to Europe, a hundred thousand in the bank, or some goal, and then ask, “okay how do I do that?” If my five-year goal is to save a hundred thousand dollars, then not counting interest, that means I need to save twenty thousand dollars a year, is that practical? There is a lot more! Tune in and find out how to take off some of the financial stress that you may be facing.

STORYTELLERS WORKSHOP NYC PRESENTED BY SONGSTRESS MONDAY MICHIRU AND FoSn, A SERIES OF LYRIC WRITING SEMINARS IN NYC

Fall Session at Shetler Studios & Theatres: November 4, 12, 18 & 25, 7 – 9 pm

Participants Showcase “Lyricists Lounge” at Club Bonafide: December 8, 3 pm

Manhattan, NY — Songstress Monday Michiru and FoSn presents “Storytellers Workshop NYC,” a series of lyric writing seminars in the Big Apple, kicking off their fall session with four weekly classes (November 4th, 12th, 18th and 25th, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.), and ending with a student showcase “Lyricists Lounge” at Club Bonafide on December 8th (3:00 p.m.).

Born in Japan, Monday’s musical and cultural perspectives were formed not only by her upbringing in both Japan and coastal U.S., but also by her legendary jazz parents, NEA Jazz Master and Japanese Living Treasure Toshiko Akiyoshi, cult jazz saxophonist Charlie Mariano, and tenor saxophonist-flutist Lew Tabackin. In 1987, after starring in “Hikaru Onna,” a film by Shinji Somai for which she won Best New Actress by the Japan Film Academy, her career in Japan began to take off in acting, followed by a prolific stream of recordings; to date, Monday has nearly 200 solo and collaborative projects under her belt, many which have topped the charts in Japan and Europe (“My Foolish Dream,” “You Make Me,” “Play It By Ear,” theme songs to “Legend of the Galactic Heroes,” “Star Suite,” amongst others).

The year 2000 witnessed Monday’s move to New York where she raised her son and still lives today. “When I became a mother, there was a nurturing side of me that was unleashed,” she reflects explaining her interest in teaching. The idea of the lyric writing masterclass began to form when, upon researching classes offered at various music universities, Monday noted an absence of lyric writing courses. “There’s songwriting and composition classes offered, but nothing supporting lyric writing, which I find odd and wanting. It’s a necessary and important part of songs.” After over a year of formulating a course structure, Monday conducted her first lyric writing seminar this summer to much success: Storytellers Workshop NYC was born.

FoSn, a new Project and Promotion Service formed this year and headed by Hiroshi Kono (Mar Creation) and Mizuho Uchiyama (Nu Jazz Entertainment, New York Japanese Jazz Festival), are the co-presenters of Storytellers Workshop. While the three share a Japanese and jazz background, the seminars will be open to people of all races and genres, with the sole focus on English lyric writing. “It’s important for me to not be rigid in the curriculum with set rules and a formula, but to meet the needs of the participants; everyone has a different issue, whether it’s a writer’s block or just trying to figure out how words should fit over a melody, and I think it’s important to address these issues. Lyric writing is tricky, there are some rules but it’s all about the balance and flow with the music.” Upon the conclusion of the weekly four class course, there will be a 70-minute showcase by the participants to perform their creations at Club Bonafide. “It was clear to us during the summer session that the participants wanted to share and sing what they were writing.”

“At the end of the day, everyone has a story, and that’s what lyric writing is, a form of storytelling. Writing is like any muscle, you’ve got to do it or you lose it, and that’s what these seminars will be about, unleashing what’s inside, and exercising that muscle. So let’s lyricize!”

Kyle Motsinger is a NYC singer/songwriter living in NYC who writes theatrical pop/rock music. His new single “Love On Each Other” is the first single from his upcoming sophomore album that will be released this winter.

Notes on the new single in the words of the singer himself, Kyle Motsinger:

In dark times we need to ‘Love on Each Other’ in order to get through. The concept of my new single isn’t new. It’s been echoed in many songs including a very famous one I happen to reference in mine. So why do we have to keep saying it? Why did I write yet another song about spreading love? Well, unfortunately there seems to be a lack of it in the world right now. Fear drives people to lash out at those who are different. Crowds are chanting against immigrants and transgender people are being murdered in the streets. Every day I’m alarmed at the injustices that are being committed. There’s an imbalance of hate over love.

The title of the song came from a Facebook post by my friend and fellow artist Colleen Harris. She was upset over one of the many horrible news stories we’ve seen in the last few years. She said we needed to ‘Love on Each Other’ and the gears in my head immediately started turning. I felt inspired to write this new song in hopes that it would inspire everyone like Colleen’s post had inspired me. I wanted to make it as fun and bubbly as I could. I wanted to bring positivity and spread love with it. I blended the kind of styles of pop together that made me smile and that’s how the sound was created. I worked with producer and fellow singer/songwriter Corey Tut to refine the track and record my vocals. Mark Hartman, who arranged brass for my song ‘War on Christmas,’ wrote the violin parts that gave it a disco flair! It’s a sneak peak of the more upbeat sound I’m cultivating for my Sophomore album that will be released this winter! I hope everyone takes away from the song that we have the power to change the world if we open our hearts and “Love on Each Other!”

Read About Russian Meddling In The World Of UFO’s In “Flying Saucers from the Kremlin” By Author Nick Redfern

Russian meddling: These are two words that just about everyone has come to know very well in the last few years. Only a fool – or someone with an agenda of a sinister kind – would deny that such meddling occurred. But how many know that, for decades, the Russians secretly used the UFO phenomenon as a means to try and destabilize the West? Why did the Russians try to recruit some of the most well-known UFO “contactees” of the 1950s? What’s the connection between the KGB and the notorious Majestic 12 documents? Why did the Soviet Union fabricate tales of aliens and feed them to the Pentagon? Does the UFO meddling still continue to this day? These are just a few of the many questions that Nick Redfern answers in his chilling new book.

Nick Redfern is the author of more than 40 books including Men in Black, Women in Black, The Roswell UFO Conspiracy, and 365 Days of UFOs. Nick has appeared on many TV shows, including the BBC’s Out of This World, the SyFy Channel’s Proof Positive, the History Channel’s Monster Quest, America’s Book of Secrets and UFO Hunters, National Geographic Channel’s Paranatural, and MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann.

The FMs To Release Highly Anticipated New Single “Change Your Men Up” on Friday August 2nd, 2019 through ADIM Records.

The FMs (femmes, female to males, fuck me sillies) are a Brooklyn based group combining elements of industrial/synth/pop with a glam/punk attitude, advancing androgyny and activism. Dancing shoegaze machines menacing hymns on the future zeitgeist. Symphonic stoner rock nightmares. The FMs’ bizarro live shows incorporate gender bending interpretive dance with powerful electric insanity evoking a contemporary nihilist take on 1970’s glam antics. Condoms are gifted while demanding folks stop overpopulating the planet. At times everyone tries to twerk. The FMs simply want to save the world without being dicks about it.

The FMs are featured in the hit Showtime movie “Fluidity,” performing live the new single “Change Your Men Up.” “Fluidity” is a story of ten millennials living in New York City whose sexual lives intersect in the age of social media – where likes, impressions, and virtual “connections” threaten the very notion of personal relationships and human intimacy. The film was written by Michael Leeds and Linda Yellen (who also directs the film) and stars Nico Tortorella, Isabella Farrell, Tommy Dorfman, Leyna Bloom and Miles McMillan. The new single featured in “Fluidity” was remixed by Patrick Seymour of The Eurythmics.

The single “Change Your Men Up” is a prelude to the forecasted double remix EP’s “Organic Hate” and “Synthetic Love” set to be released on August 23rd, 2019, which is being unveiled in celebration of the two year anniversary of The FMs debut album “Machinacene Epoch.”

The single will be available on all digital platforms on Friday August 2nd, 2019.

Rebecca Sounds Reveille with Lee Paul

This dynamic episode allows us to go back in time with a man who crossed the airwaves and spent hours in many of our homes on some of the most popular television shows! Are you one who has watched shows with household value, those that were the staple-hood of television? Guest Lee Paul, an Air Force veteran who was an officer in King Soloman, Alaska, grew in Brooklyn, New York and followed his own “yellow brick” road of interest in science and arts, taking him to the dreamland of many…Hollywood. He has spent over 25 years of performing, more than 75 on-camera appearances, 30 plus commercials, along with 53 credits in filmography, some of which are iconic, such as: The Van Dyke Show, Matlock,Falcon Crest,Simon & Simon, The Fall Guy,Kenny Rogers as The Gambler: The Adventure Continues,B.J. and the Bear,ChiPs,Wonder Woman,Adam-12,Cannon,Mannix,Happy Days, and The Sting.

On the show, he talks about what originally brought him to the drama department (a girl he was chasing) and how it wasn’t the girl he fell in love with that ultimately led him to stardom. He also talks about some of the roles he played (the one in The Sting being the most significant), what his father equipped him with to fulfill these roles, and how it was cyclical in his life. This is an amazing story in itself!

Lee shared in-depth about how the illusion of having an easy life as a movie star is not as easy as it seems and how there is a misconception as to royalties actors receive from the movies they have appeared in. He talks about the low percentage of actors that qualify for pension and health benefits, specifically he is 1 of 2.5% of 3-400,000 actors, that do. He even talks about his .07 cent and .01 residuals!

There are some very good points Lee makes about having a good background and craft along with what it takes to make it in “Hollywood.” However, this philosophy is something that can be applied to anything one would like to achieve in life!
