First, they start out taking pills, then they steal from their parents or their brother or sister, and then one by one the whole group of friends who were once healthy, vivacious, high achieving teenagers, each become addicted. The film literally shows the path of destruction that each of them lives out and it’s all very different scenarios, but there they literally experience the dark underworld of heroin and fentanyl addiction. So, it shows prostitution, overdose, HIV, murders, robbery gone wrong, murder… I mean you name it, it’s… it’s in the film. Anything that can go wrong with a nasty addiction like that, we portray a very real intense- raw view of what that addiction looks like in action.”

Rebecca Sounds Reveille with Jay David

When you hear the word success, what comes to mind? The guest in this episode, renowned Jay David, who is an accomplished drummer, singer, songwriter, musician, actor, recovery counselor, and speaker, has dazzled the audience in numerous performances, including his position with Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show and he will dazzle you too! Jay shares how his love and talent for music began. His first appearance was at the age of two and a half. (He will tell you more about it on the show!)! This show intertwines his life’s journey as climbs and rises to the peak of fame and what was to follow. Jay is a hoot to listen to as he talks about being at Mercury Records in New York City

“I was playing whenever all of the songwriters (they had about a hundred fifty songwriters) and whenever the songwriters would come up with a song that management thought was good, they went and they had me come in and record the drum parts for it. Then, along with two other instruments, it would just be a trio, and somebody would sing it. That’s how they would shop those songs to other artists that were looking for material in those days (this being the late 60s) and so I was in the studio all the time. Then I began singing the songs too. Then I began playing the piano, then the drums and things. So I was I was very busy. And one day this producer came in and he said, “Hey Jay! Listen to this song! And he played me a song called, “The Last Morning,” and he said, “This is a new group called, “Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show,” and they don’t have a drummer. They’re looking for a drummer. Do you want to go?” Well, I was the staff drummer.”

Later the group went to Columbia Records to meet with Clive Davis. While waiting amongst others and wanting to stand out so as to get a contract, here is what Jay said he did: “I walked behind his desk and took his trash can and turned it upside down and Dennis Andrade took that acoustic guitar and I played the trash can. That’s how we did our audition; in his office. The next day they signed us to a $750,000 deal.” Jay also shared how there were challenges with the BBC and what they would not let air due to possible copyright infringement and a “word” in a song, all of which he details and you will find quite interesting when you tune in!

Jay has recently been in some films and has released his “hilarious and insightful” new parody, “The Cover of the AARP,” on the album “This Road,” which includes originals and songs by Stephen Stills, Joe Egan (Steeler’s Wheel), and JJ Cale.

There is a lot to glean from this episode. For example, through perseverance, envisioning a dream, then pursuing that dream, you CAN achieve it! Jay says, “I’m a drummer for life. I always have been. I always will be and I’ll always make music. I have a little recording studio in my house here and I’ll be recording later today- JayDavismusic.com.”

Rebecca Sounds Reveille with Theresa Chaze and Brad Williams

In this episode, guest Theresa Chaze, who is a writer, director, producer, and editor, with several credits to her name talks about her unscripted TV series, Horses and Heroes, which combines highly effective Peer Support Therapy with Equine Therapy. Unlike most in the genre, it will focus on healing and positive growth rather than endorsing bad behavior. They will be sharing their challenges and supporting each other as they find new solutions to their physical and emotional challenges. Theresa talks about how she’s supporting the veterans of the United States military who have served and how they work together to find new coping skills for their physical and emotional challenges. The emphasis will be on the veterans because they are people, they are not disposable parts of the war machine. She shares how veterans “need permission to seek help” as so many don’t because they think the ramifications will hurt their careers. “You’ve got this reputation of being tough guys and tough guys just sucked it up.” Theresa also has two other films that may also pique your interest: Never Can Say Good-bye tells the parallel storylines of the past and the present as the reincarnated souls are forced to decide between forgiveness and seeking the revenge they were denied in the past. Chalice Island is a Gothic Horror, which is comparable to the original Dark Shadows TV series. Jacqueline’s capacity to love is only exceeded by her need for vengeance after she finds her mother raped and murdered. When a source of evil offers both her and her brother the means to gain revenge, she enthusiastically embraces the dark arts. https://cproduction5.wixsite.com/cosmos-productions-

Topping the second half of the show, returning financial expert and Founding President & CEO of Brad Williams Financial Services, LLC, guest Brad Williams, has over 25 years of experience and addressing financial concerns of retirees and business owners. He has very strong communication skills, is very personable, and he likes to focus on the clients’ concerns, and address what is important to them. On the show, we talk about how right now, “money stress,” is what a lot of people are losing sleep over and the possible causation. For example, our fast-paced society and being always connected digitally allows easy accessibility to consumer goods and constant marketing tactics that spur people to “act now,” without really paying too much attention to “how much it is going to cost.” The debt stacks ups quickly and only later the consumer realizes they may have overextended themselves.

Brad talks about how everything should be all about return on investment and that might only be return on investment for your own relaxation. You’ are going to spend money or take the time off to recharge, that’s good, that’s what you should do, but it’s also about things like college and college is one of those big expenses that people stress over. Brad suggests one of the best things is to sit down and write out the general life plan you hope to accomplish at the end of your life, write yourself a narrative on what you would like people to say about you what did, then figure out over the next five years what you want, such as a new car, a house, a trip to Europe, a hundred thousand in the bank, or some goal, and then ask, “okay how do I do that?” If my five-year goal is to save a hundred thousand dollars, then not counting interest, that means I need to save twenty thousand dollars a year, is that practical? There is a lot more! Tune in and find out how to take off some of the financial stress that you may be facing.
